Every human being longs for justice because we are created in the image of a just God. Yet Ecclesiastes reveals the painful reality that our world is filled with corruption, oppression, and broken systems that can never produce perfect justice. The problem is deeper than bad leaders or flawed laws—it is the sinful human heart. We demand justice for others while hoping for mercy for ourselves.

Solomon points us to the futility of placing our hope in human systems, which are temporary and ultimately incapable of fixing what is broken. Our greatest need is not simply better governments or fairer courts, but a Savior who can uphold God's perfect justice while extending mercy to guilty sinners.

The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ is the Irrefutable Judge. He will judge every wrong with perfect righteousness, defend the oppressed, and one day restore all things. At the cross, God did not set justice aside—He satisfied justice through Christ so that sinners could be justified. Until that day of final restoration, believers are called to trust God's timing, release bitterness, repent of their own sin, and rest in the hope that the Judge who is coming is also the Redeemer who has already paid the price for His people.
